The Jane Austen Festival- Promenade Wristbands
To our dear fellow Austen-fans around the world,
Like Lizzy Bennet with Mr. Darcy’s letter, please do us the honour of reading this humble missive all the way to the end…

As those of you who love dancing know, an agreeable partner is everything, and we are delighted to announce that we are partnering with the charming people at Bath Arts Collective to deliver the Grand Regency-Costumed Promenade in 2025.
As our wonderful Festival visitors grow in number, our security and safety processes must follow suit. For this, the team at Bath Arts Collective have been invaluable in working with our Festival Director to research these new-fangled and required processes to keep this wonderful, internationally-renowned event running.

We are similarly delighted to announce that, for the 2025 Promenade, we are partnering with PostScript.
"Welcome to Postscript – an independent bookseller since 1987, based on the edge of Dartmoor. Each month we curate a free catalogue brimming with new and unusual reads across all genres, write our own descriptions and carefully wrap all orders in eco packaging. We are thrilled to sponsor the Jane
Austen Festival and support the important work they do in keeping our literary heritage at the forefront of conversations"
This generous independent bookseller is collaborating with the Jane Austen Festival to bring you the biggest, soldier-filled, most musical, car-less promenade ever! They will also be joining us for the Festival Fayre, so either head to their website, or chat to their team at the Fayre to find out more about this unique company.

We know that many of you have been eagerly awaiting the announcement of when wristbands to our Grand Regency-Costumed Promenade will go on sale. We also know that reports of an alarming nature may have reached some of you about our ticketing company encountering a few problems when we put our Yuletide ball tickets on sale.
It’s true- dear readers- that our ticket company had some problems with processing payments. Like a Regency rake of a husband caught with a lock of his mistress’s hair in his handkerchief, they have been most fulsome in their apologies and claimed they can be far more reliable in future. However, we are currently unconvinced that they have actually changed their ways…
We have a plan to test the truth of their claims, but to enact it- dear reader- we humbly beg your assistance.
We will be putting Grand Regency-Costumed Promenade wristbands on sale at 13:00 BST on Friday 25th April 2025. This is a large-scale event and we do not expect wristbands to sell out straight away, however we would still encourage you to be on your computer at that exact date and time trying to buy wristbands.
Should you encounter any problems or challenges, please document them including any specific times or screenshots that might help illustrate exactly what was going wrong. This plan does rather rely on a great volume of people all attempting to purchase the wristbands at once, so if you were planning on joining us for the Grand Regency-Costumed Promenade and you possibly can be at your computer at that exact time and date, please do so as a favour to us!
Hopefully, all will go smoothly but if it doesn’t, this gives us a chance to report any problems to the ticketing company before the rest of our September events go on sale.
And finally: there is a new police and council policy on weapons-carrying in the promenade, so don’t be alarmed when you are asked about that as part of buying your wristbands.

Until we meet in the sunny streets of Bath, all the very best of wishes,
